Robert Chester Wisen
February 24, 1926 – January 19, 2021
Robert Chester of Lauderdale, MN, age 94, died at his home January 19, 2021. He was born February 24, 1926. Bob was loved and will be missed by his family, his church, and his community. Bob was baptized, confirmed, married to Crystal Cairncross, and comforted in death as a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He lived almost all of his life in Lauderdale where he was born, schooled, built his home, and served 2 terms as mayor. In WWII he served in the 1st Armored Division, tank corps, in Italy. He was happy to return to Lauderdale, become a CPA and partner in Fleet and Moody which merged with larger firms the last one being Grant Thornton. He eventually retired as a controller at Tousley Ford at the age of 70. Bob was an active volunteer in church serving as treasurer and president. He also served as president of Kiwanis. Bob is survived by his wife of 72 years, Crystal, and numerous descendants. Bob passed peacefully as a result of stroke. Bob is also survived by his sister Rosalyn and his brother, William (Norma). He is predeceased by his parents, Chester and Elsie Wisen; and by his son, William. Also surviving are four daughters: Linda (Steve) Sventek, Nancy (James) Nelson, Janice Wisen-Finnerty, and Sally (Peter) Grames. He felt blessed by 16 grandchildren: Rachel (Paul), Sarah, (Eric), Anna, Sam (Joni), Joel, Stacey (Chris), Andrew, Nolan, Noah, Natiana, Brendan, Rory, Darick, Molly (David), Nicholas, Eliza. He was blessed by great-grandchildren: Lucas, Hope, Bella, Dylan, Patrick, Megan, Grace, Griffin, Bennett, Graham, and great-great-grandchildren, Isobel and Fiona.(Published in the Star Tribune on January 24, 2021)
