Jean Carol Lang (Lindgren)

July 24, 1935 – January 4, 2021
Age 85 of Fridley passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on January 4, 2021, after a 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, John Lang, son Thomas Lang, parents LeRoy and Eva Lindgren, sister Joan Maness and great granddaughter Clara Olsen. She is survived by daughters Laurie Lang (Wayne Milinkovich), Barb Lang, and Terry (Jim) Magnuson. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Adam Gronlund, Liz Lang, Scott and Chad Magnuson, Megan (Chad) Olsen and her great granddaughter, Lorelei Olsen. She is also survived by her brother, Bob (Carol) Lindgren and sister, Judy (Pete) Peterson, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Born and raised in Anoka, Minnesota, mom graduated from Anoka High School in 1953. After two years as a dental assistant, Mom and Dad were married in 1955 and started their family. She was a stay-at-home-mom for many years and when her children were older she worked at Miles Homes and Dayton’s Clinique counter at Brookdale. Our mother was beautiful inside and out. She was an incredible artist and interior decorator. She was funny, talented, a great cook and homemaker and was welcoming to everyone. Our family extends special thanks to Dr. Noel Laudi and his wonderful nurses and staff at Minnesota Oncology. We also extend special thanks to the loving and caring staff and aides at Harbors Senior Living Community of Fridley and Allina Hospice. Mom received constant tender loving care from all of them and that care extended to the rest of the family as well. We can’t thank them enough for their kindness and generosity. Mom requested that her Celebration of Life be held outdoors this summer after which her ashes will be interred with Dad and Tom at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Osseo. Memorials are preferred to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org). (Published in the Star Tribune on January 12, 2021)
