Age 87 of Lindstrom MN, died Saturday, January 9, 2021 due to COVID complications. He was born in Garfield MN on June 27, 1933 to Edward and Ethel (Thorson) Bergner. Farrel was a very active person who loved spending time in the outdoors camping, canoeing, biking, hiking and skiing. He also had a passion for traveling to far off places, highlighted by trips to Norway and Sweden to visit relatives. Farrel loved playing games with his family, like cribbage, kings-in-the-corner and his famous dice games with their ever-changing rules. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Gale. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley; children Steve, Lisa, Lori (Tom) Bosiger, Peter (Michelle) and Paul; brother Roger (Nancy); 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Celebration of life to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church or to the National Parks Conservation Association.
