Michael Scott Lindsoe

Michael Scott Lindsoe of Shakopee, MN, passed away on January 3rd, 2021 at the age of 75. He was born on December 19th, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN to Ogden and Arlene (Swanz) Lindsoe. Michael was a proud Vietnam veteran, and a ceremony will be held for him at Fort Snelling in the Spring due to current COVID restrictions. Michael often shared fond memories of growing up in Truman MN and had a passion for basketball. His senior year of High School his family moved to Burnsville MN and in that short time made some of his closest lifelong friends. Shortly after High School, in 1965, he was drafted into the Army and served in CO C, 3RD BN, 12TH INF, 4th INF DIV. He served with honor until 1967 and was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy, the Gallantry Cross, Civil Actions Medal, and many additional honors. After his military service he said he never wanted to camp outside again, wanted to get started building a family and have kids. In 1969 he welcomed his first son, Michael (Scott) Lindsoe Jr, and became the first employee of his longtime employer, Metro Sales. Three years later, his second son, Cory Michael Lindsoe, was born. He went on to work at Metro Sales for 30 years and became the first Charter Member of the Employee Hall of Fame. After Metro Sales he helped found a successful software development company, Falcon Technology, before his retirement. In 2005 Michael married Lynn Hall and welcomed two additional children into his life, Nicholas, and Amanda. Michael and Lynn were blessed with 15 years together, he loved to cook for her, travel to Cabo San Lucas as often as they could and enjoyed their life together on O’Dowd Lake in Shakopee, MN. Michael leaves behind his beloved wife Lynn Lindsoe, brother Charles Lindsoe, children Scott (Holly) Lindsoe, Cory Lindsoe, Nicholas (Amy) Hall, Amanda (Curt) Wright and nine grandchildren Bree Lindsoe, Hannah Lindsoe, John Lindsoe, Jake Lindsoe, Kate Lindsoe, Ava Rose, Ella Rose, William Hall, and Emeline Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents Ogden and Arlene Lindsoe, brothers Steve and Robert Lindsoe. (Published in the Star Tribune on January 10, 2021)
