Walter Raymond Hanson

Walt Hanson, 90, of Isanti, MN passed away of natural causes on December 12th , 2020. Walt is survived by his son, Bob (Shelly); grandchildren, Rob Hanson, Anna (Cory) Bromwich, Steven (Josh) Doan Hanson; great-grandchildren, Joey, Ella, and Ava Bromwich; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Hanson, on their 50 th wedding anniversary; his parents, Julia and Olavus Hanson; his siblings Otto, Joseph, Marie, Irene, Johnny, Orville “Swede”, Donna, and Helen. Walt was born on October 23rd , 1930 in Glyndon, MN to Olavus and Julia Hanson. He was the 6th of 9 children. He married his wife Betty in 1955. They welcomed their only child, Bob in 1956. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Kraus-Hartig VFW in Spring Lake Park, MN. He loved spending time there with his family and friends. He was the king of sarcasm and wit. If you mentioned his favorite granddaughter, $5.00, or “Boogity Boogity”, he would know exactly what you were talking about. He loved taking his grandkids and great-grandkids for rides in his 1963 Buick LeSabre convertible and always stopped for a butterscotch sundae from Dairy Queen on the way home. He enjoyed listening to jazz music, watching Nascar races, eating caramels, and spoiling his beloved schnauzer, Chloe. Due to Covid a Celebration of Life will be held this Spring.
