H. Irene Jeddeloh

August 13, 1929 – October 26, 2020
Age 91 of Minneapolis. She was born on August 13, 1929 in Matowan Minnesota on the family farm where she grew up. Her parents were Stuart Joseph Root and Cecilia A. Murphy. She was proud of her family heritage which included the founding families of Waseca County including McDougall, Carmody, Murphy, Brisbane and Root. Irene married James Clair Jeddeloh July 23, 1949 in New Richland. They had five children together. Irene lived in Waseca for most of her adult life. She attended the College of St. Teresa prior to her marriage and finished her education at Mankato State University graduating in 1972. She went on the teach 3rd grade at St. Mary’s School in Owatonna. She retired from teaching when “Jim” retired from the E.F. Johnson Company in 1989. Following Jim’s death in 1990 she became involved with the Waseca-LeSueur Regional Library System serving on that Board for several years. She traveled extensively. Irene’s proudest achievement has been the development and growth of the Waseca Arts Center which started out as part of the Waseca library and became a viable free-standing asset to Waseca County. Irene is predeceased by her husband Jim, sisters Rose Carol and Kathleen, brothers Joseph and James, and her son James’ partner A.J. Rabitaille. She is survived by her children James, Robert (Peter Krembs), Steven (Lara Villa), Mary and Joseph as well as granddaughters Katie and Caroline Jeddeloh. There will be a grave side service in the Spring of 2021 at Calvary Cemetery in New Richland. Any memorials may be appreciatively sent to the Waseca Arts Center, 200 State St. N., Waseca, MN. 56093.
