Rebecca Deloris Carlson (White)
August 8, 1954 – August 15, 2020
Age 66 of Maple Grove passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday August 15th after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. She’s leaves behind a long list of family and friends that love her dearly including Keith Carlson (husband) Melissa Sweeney (daughter) Georgeanna Smoot (sister) Renee Callaway (sister) Wendy Long (Jay, Matthew and Margaret, niece), close cousin Kelly Bolling (Jerry, Chelsey and Coleman) and father in law Kenneth Carlson.
Becky was a 1972 graduate of Edina High School East. She spent many years waitressing at the Leaning Post in St Louis Park, a job she loved, until it closed in 1987.
She worked at Prudential for over 20 years where her co-workers gave her the well deserved nickname “Becky Homecky” and “Becky Crocker”. She was the first one to jump up and organize a party and always bringing in delicious treats for the team.
As she entered her retirement years, Becky started working at Costco in Maple Grove where she was instantly loved by her coworkers.
Not only was Becky an amazing chef, she also had a passion for gardening and many would comment on her beautiful flower gardens.
Preceded in death are her Mother Dorothea Reierson, Father Leo White, Nephew Trevin Peil, brother in law Alex Smoot and mother in law Lorraine Carlson.
A small celebration of life has been scheduled 1-4 Saturday, August 29th at the Medina Ballroom. Those attending are encouraged to wear pink, Becky’s favorite color.
Due to Covid restrictions, social distancing, maximum occupancy and masks will be required. Please stay home should you not feel well or are showing any covid symptoms. Guests are encouraged to limit their time to 30 minutes so all can pay their respects and visit with friends and family.
