William Eugene Olszewski

Age 87 of Ramsey. Bill Olszewski was born January 5, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a passionate educator, traveler, photographer, marathoner, donor, and volunteer. Bill was a champion for educators, an extraordinary friend, had a passionate commitment to human rights, and was a lover of music and theater. Bill joined the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1951; he was ordained a priest in 1961. He taught in Denver at Regis College High School and at Regis College. After leaving the priesthood, Bill earned a doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Minnesota. He taught at Mankato State University where he also chaired the International Students Endowment Fund for many years. Later in life, Bill traveled the world photographing the diversity of people in their own environments and published a photography book titled A Luminous World. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Adeline and Eugene Olszewski, siblings Ruth Olszewski, Jane McCollum, Edward Olszewski, and Mary Richter. He is survived by his stepson Tran Doyscher and family in FL, foster daughter Angelena Pham and family in MN, and many beloved nieces, nephews & friends. Bill is also survived by Chuck Lofy in MI, with whom Bill shared a deep brotherhood for 70 years.
