Brooks Lindsey Simning

November 23, 1977 – July 21, 2020
Age 42 of St. Paul passed away peacefully on July 21st, 2020 after a 2-year battle with brain cancer. Brooks grew up in Robbinsdale, MN, and met the love of his life (Jennie) at the Univ. of MN where he attained his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Together they created a wonderful life full of laughter and three beautiful sons. Brooks’ positivity, courage, and perseverance were outweighed only by the love he had for his family and friends. A husband, father, son, brother, and friend – he lives on in our hearts and memories. Brooks is survived by his wife, Jennie, and their three young sons, Kellen, Kai, and Donovan; father, Robert Simning and his wife Karen Kirby (Tyler Callender); brother, Adam Simning and his wife Inga (Mira and Raiya); and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Comeau; grandparents, Robert and Cecelia Simning, Donald and Dorothy Ann Comeau; and cousin, James Gay. A private memorial will be held for family and friends (date TBD). (Published in the Star Tribune on August 9, 2020)
