Dianah Plowright Sexter (Cooke)

A British war bride, Dianah was born October 24th, 1924 in Long Sutton, Lincolnshire, England. She passed away on July 13th, 2020 at the age of 95. Dianah came to Minnesota in 1946. She married Donald Sexter, who was an Army sergeant in World War II stationed in Peterborough, England near her home. She was extremely proud of her British heritage, and was a member of the British Club since 1946. She was an amazing, devoted mother to her three sons, and two grandsons, their entire lives. Dianah kept up with her incredible social network, which included her British family, Shrine club friends, and many relatives and neighbors. Dianah is preceded in death by Donald, her husband of 62 years. She is survived by her brother Tony Cooke (Jill), London, England, her sons Roger, Greg, and John (Peggy), grandsons Adam (Whitney), Matthew (Walt), great grandson Carter, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 22nd, 11:00 a.m., at Calvary park, behind Calvary Lutheran Church, 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley. Masks and social distancing are required. Memorials may be given to Shriners Children’s Hospital, Twin Cities, or donor’s choice. (Published in the Star Tribune on July 19, 2020)
