Age 90, , passed away peacefully on June 4, 2020, at our Lady of Peace Hospice, St. Paul. Born on March 24, 1930 in Waterville to Herman and Mabel Hess, moved to Faribault, was Legal Secretary to Rice County Attorney and retired from CCS after 23 years as bookkeeper. Married to Dick Farus for 50 years, loved nature and family camping trips. They retired at their lake home in Hackensack, traveled the U.S. and Canada in their RV, spent winters at Raindance Park in Apache Junction, AZ, where they enjoyed the mountains, desert, but most of all, visits from their family. When Dick lost his 15 year battle with lung cancer, she moved to Minnetonka and then RosePointe, Roseville. Nothing meant more to her than family; extended Slifer, Marsden, Brennan families; and many who called her second mom or grandma. As a loyal fan, she looked forward to the annual MN Twins game (her boys), plus many musicals and plays she went to with her girls. She is survived by daughters Mary Brennan, Eagan; Ann Anderson, Golden Valley and Michele (John) Slifer, St. Paul. Grama/Nanny/GG to Rachel (Tim) McLaughlin; Tommy, Kyle (Lauren) and Hanna Anderson; Sammy and Katie Slifer; great-grandsons Milo and Luca McLaughlin; brother-in-law Carl (Sandy) Musgjerd; former sons-in-law Randie (RB) Brennan and Steve Anderson; nieces and nephews. Her kindness, joy for life, and unconditional love will live on in them all. There will be a small family funeral at St Mark’s Catholic Church in St. Paul. A celebration of her life will be held on a later date.
