DuWayne Allen Schake

November 13, 1940 – March 24, 2020
Age 79 of Brooklyn Center went home to be with the Lord on 3/24/2020. Born 11/13/1940 in Mpls, MN. He was very thankful and grateful for his wonderful bride, children (spouses) and grandchildren. DuWayne is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Diane, children Kimberly (Bill) Parisian, Gary (Jill) Schake, Shelly Carter (Mark Peterson), 8 grandchildren Sam (Elise), Josh (Sarah), Tanner (Danielle), Taylor, Carson, Camryn, Bryn and Paige. Also, his sister Donna Webb and brother Garald Schake and many wonderful family members and friends. Preceded in death by parents Carl and Rose Schake, brother Sonny and sisters Betty Comer and Eleanor Brisson and son-in-law Jeff Carter. He attended Henry High School, then served on the USS Ranger in the Navy. He married the love of his life, Diane, on 6/14/1963. He worked as a warehouseman at Red Owl/Super Value for 31 years and was a proud Teamster union steward. He loved to fish, hunt and follow MN sports teams. He enjoyed playing his guitar, cabin time, tying flies, talking with friends and family, breakfasts with his Red Owl buddies, watching TV, but mostly doing daily devotions every morning with Diane. Thank you God for all of the beautiful blessings you have given to our family. A celebration of life for DuWayne will be planned for a later date. (Published in the Star Tribune on March 29, 2020)
