Isaacson, Betty Ragnhild (nee Uglem)

July 20, 1928 – February 25, 2020
Age 91 of Brooklyn Park, believed that everyone deserved two things: prayer and greeting cards. If she had ever met you, she prayed for you. Her daily prayer journals overflowed with names, rendered in tidy secretary shorthand: friends, family, strangers, and dozens of Sunday school children. If she knew your birthday or anniversary, you’d better believe you got a card. Betty’s practical love enveloped everyone in her life: her husband, Jim; daughters, Karen (Gary) Hedstrom, Nancy Pearson, and Lori (Dave) Hjelvik; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; the extended circle of her church, and the residents of Rio Verde, AZ, where she and Jim spent winters. On Feb. 25 at age 91, Betty went to be with the Lord she loved so much, joining Jim; sister, Doris (Tom); parents, Peter and Ragna Uglem, and son-in-law, Jack Pearson. Her zeal for correspondence will undoubtedly keep the heavenly post office occupied for the rest of eternity. Please join us in remembering Betty at Hope Lutheran Church, 5200 Emerson Ave. N., Mpls. Memorial service on Thursday, March 12 at 11:00 AM. Visitation 1 hour prior, luncheon following. Private interment at Ft. Snelling. Memorials preferred to: Hope Lutheran Church, N.C. Little Hospice, Pastor’s Study, Habitat for Humanity (Central AZ), or donor’s choice. (Published in the Star Tribune on March 8, 2020)
