Age 66, of Minneapolis, died Sunday, February 9, 2020, at his home. Duane was born April 23, 1953, in Alma, WI. He graduated from Cochrane-Fountain City, Wis., High School in 1971 and from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1975. Duane worked as a Psychiatric Associate at Fairview Medical Center until his retirement in 2017.

Duane was proceeded in death by his parents, Duane Rothering Sr and Gertrude Rothering of Alma, WI; and by his sister, Heidi Lynn Rothering Major of Alma, WI.

Surviving Duane are his two brothers, Renee “Rob” (Jerri Ann) Rothering of Milton, Fla., and Peter (Sherry) Rothering of Winona; a brother in law, Bob Major (Ellen) of Alma, WI; an Uncle, Lonnie Rothering of Cochrane, WI; an Aunt, Shirley Becker of Fountain City; and also by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service for all family and friends will be held on March 21, 2020 at the American Legion in River Falls, WI, from 2 – 5 PM, with a short service at 3 pm. In memory of Duane and one of his favorite events, family and friends are placing a Memorial Bench in Duane’s honor at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds this fall.
