Prior, Wayne Lewis
November 10, 1954 – February 4, 2020
“It is not the blood that flows within us but the love that grows between us that makes us family”. There is no better way to describe the family that Wayne Prior sadly had to leave behind after only 65 years on this earth. In his final week of life after a long and brave battle with diabetes and kidney disease he said he was truly happy to be surrounded with the love, laughter, tears, and chaos that is his amazing family. Making jokes and “Waynisms” up to his final day, he also made sure to let everyone know how much he loved them and appreciated the unwavering support of those who love him.
Throughout his life he enjoyed working on cars, riding four-wheelers, hunting, spending time with his family and friends, watching football with his grandsons, and going for drives with the love of his life, Marg.
Wayne was born in Rush City, MN, on November 10, 1954, and passed away in Princeton, MN, on February 4, 2020. Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Prior, children Kaylee (JD) Dircks, Jason (Amanda) Wolfsteller, Tom (Lynda) Prior, Justin (Janeen) Wolfsteller, and Amber (Jeremy) Digiovanni, many loving grandchildren, and his faithful sidekick, his dog Rudy. He is also survived by his siblings Kathy (Ernie) Bergstrom, Randy (Rita) Prior, Debbie (Rick) Altenbrun, Carol (Ron) Current, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Russ and Beverly Prior, and sister Gloria Smith.
Wayne wanted to make sure that everybody knows to take care of themselves when they are diagnosed with diabetes because this disease stole entirely too much time from him.
Wayne did not want a funeral but rather a celebration of his life, which will take place at this summer and will include his very favorite things: family, friends, good food, music, and lots of laughter.
