Jaeb, Francis “Bud” James

July 25, 1928 – January 11, 2020
Age 91 of Plymouth. Our dear Bud passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the age of 91. Husband, father, friend, opera buff, master woodworker, game-player and virtuoso crossword puzzle solver, these are only a few ways to describe a man who enriched so many lives. Bud always said he’d rather swing a hammer than a golf club. His presence will be felt not only spiritually, but in his hand-crafted pieces that grace our homes, as well as the home renovations he accomplished. The whir of a circular saw and the smell of fresh sawdust will always be a fond reminder of him. We will never look at a cordless drill the same way again. Bud and Mary were enthusiastic travellers. Their adventurous trips brought them all over the US, Canada, warm places South and all over Europe. Our family enjoyed many long trips that taught us that vacations were above all about love, togetherness, and having fun whatever the circumstances. We still laugh about our tent camping trips, complete with drenching rain and carsick kids. In addition, Bud was very proud of his 50 years of work with Diebold Inc. Bud will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Mary; children, Melanie (Linda), Trish, Paul (Jeffery), Rosemary (Mark) MacLean, and Thomas (Kjersten); grandchildren Madeline, Anna, and Alexandra MacLean and Benjamin, Katherine, and Elizabeth Jaeb; and many dear relatives and friends. Bud is also survived by siblings Donald (Betty), Marjorie, Charles (Nancy) and James. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice for taking such good care of Bud. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, January 17th, St. Bartholomew Church, 630 E Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata. Visitation 10:00 am, Mass at 11am. Luncheon will follow. Memorials in Bud’s name can be made to The Retreat, 1221 Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata, MN 55391 (theretreat.org) (Published in the Star Tribune on January 14, 2020)
