Adams, Beatrice “Betty” Leah (nee Koch)

July 15, 1941 – January 14, 2020
Age 78 of Inver Grove Heights passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 14, 2020. Preceded in death by husband, Gerald Adams; parents Albert H. Koch and Florence Turner Koch; Sister, Marlene Koch. Betty was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. After raising her active children in Edina, MN, Betty moved to Texas until she retired to Holiday Island, AR where she was involved with bridge (ACBL); her first passion after time with family and friends, becoming a lifetime master; involved with the Red Hats, member of the Elks Club, active with-in her church, golf leagues, boating club, enjoyed quilting and donating her beautiful works of art and was an amazing seamstress. Betty’s bridge playing started back in her teen-age years and she always said sadly later in life what a lost art it had became. She was so in her element behind those cards! Her years in Minnesota revolved around raising her two children from an active sports life, was a Brownie leader, pre-school teacher, Sunday school teacher and enjoyed bowling, tennis & golf leagues, socializing, traveling the world, and a good bloody mary. Betty was a very loving mom and wife who adored her five grandchildren whom truly lit up her life; was always there for those in need with her kind, loving, generous heart, loved to laugh, and play her cards of all types. While living in Texas, Betty worked for the City of Irving where she met her husband, Gerald. Betty’s last 5 years were enjoyed at a senior living facility in IGH where she kept busy with a variety of activities and truly enjoyed her time spent there with an amazing staff and friends that truly became her extended family.
Survived by her two loving children; daughter, Diane Sowokinos and son, Bob Taylor; grandchildren, Scott Taylor, Matt Sowokinos, Blake Sowokinos, William Taylor, and Megan Doyle; brother, Albert C. Koch, and first husband, Robert L. Taylor.
