Age 87, passed away 12-27-19 at Mt. Olivet Home in Minneapolis, MN. Allen was born in Lengby, MN on 07-23-32. He was baptized & confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He graduated from Fosston High School class of 1950. An Army Veteran he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and honorably discharged in 1954. He was a published songwriter, poet and local Radio/TV Personality. He announced, did commercials and was the voice heard on many Twin City Radio Stations for many years. His retirement was spent hosting piano sing-a-longs at retirement homes, and being Santa at the stores. Surviving family include sisters Norma Erickson of Fosston, MN & Betty Juve of Crookston, MN; plus many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, David & Singrid Carlson; sisters, Dora Myhrum & Marian Gilge; brothers-in-law, Nels Erickson, Leland Juve, Arvil Myhrum & James Gigle; niece, Sharon Kappedal; nephew, Galen Swanson; as well as life-long friend, Francis Truman Nelson. Funeral service Saturday, January 25 at 2PM with visitation at 1PM at the Mount Olivet Home Chapel, 5517 Lyndale Avenue South.
