Age 49 of Minnetonka, passed away 11/24/2019, surrounded by loving family, after a long and difficult battle with ALS. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Janet, son Jack (17), daughter Emily (13), and son Charlie (10). Dave is also survived by his mom Marilyn (Kevin) Hill, stepdad Jeff Arvold (Elaine), grandma Deloris Eul and grandma Gladys Mulhern, brothers Andrew (Nikki) Arvold, Mike (Rachel) Arvold, mother and father-in-law Dorothy and Norman Pink, brothers and sisters-in-law, Barb (Andy) Fishman, David (Tamar) Pink, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. After high school, Dave joined the Navy and served during the Gulf War. He then served in the National Guard. Dave worked as a well respected electrician at Southside Electric for over 20 years, until symptoms of ALS rendered him unable to work. Dave spent the last year as an inpatient at the Minneapolis VA, where he received compassionate and loving care by all the staff in the spinal cord unit. We are so grateful for their care of and for not only Dave, but the entire family. Dave enjoyed fishing, being at Lake Vermillion and visiting with family and friends. Dave valued family above all else and loved watching his kids play sports. He was the number one fan of all of his son’s sports teams, never missing a game. Anyone who knew Dave, knew he had a witty sense of humor. He could always brighten up a room with a joke. His sense of humor, candor and generous spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, December 15th at 1pm in the social hall at Adath Jeshurun-10500 Hillside Lane West Hopkins, MN 55305. Memorials preferred to the ALS Association or donors choice. (Published in the Star Tribune on December 1, 2019)
