Nelson, Richard Dean
August 1, 1963 – November 16, 2019
Age 56 of Spring Lake Park, went to be with the Lord, November 16, 2019. He is survived by son, Alexander; daughter, Lauren; brothers, Robert Nelson & Randy (Darlene) Nelson; sister, Ry-Chel (Steve) Gaustad; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, O’Dean and Donna Nelson (Armour) and brother, Rodney Nelson. Richard was a 1981 graduate of Coon Rapids High School, attended Bemidji State University and then moved to Worthington, Ohio. Then he married his hometown sweetheart Susan Ehrler and they had two amazing children: Alexander and Lauren. After retiring, Rick moved back to Minnesota and enjoyed every aspect of life. He enjoyed grilling, the outdoors, ice fishing, and hunting. His passion was to help others in and out of the church. Rick found joy in being a large donor to “Make a Wish Foundation” where kids realize their dreams. Rick’s gift to entertain others expanded from the kitchen to making those around him laugh until their stomachs hurt. Rick will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. His hugs will always be remembered and his high level of intellect, greatly missed.
