Swanson, Aaron Derrick

March 28, 1984 – October 3, 2019
Age 35 of Brainerd, lost the war at home on October 3, 2019. His journey was one of many winding roads leading him in the end to peace. His proudest accomplishment was becoming part of his Army family Fox Company 4-31. He served in Iraq motivated to do what he could for his country after 911. He will be remembered fondly for his beautiful blue eyes, his laugh, his great big heart, and his constant humor. One of his closest battle buddies describes him as lovingly sarcastic and brutally honest with a heart bigger than Texas. He is survived by his father, Scott Swanson (Tracy and family), his mother, Pamela Peterson (Loren and family), and his sister Dena Becker (Kraig and children; Rhiannon, Keagan, and Keenan). Aunt Jayne Schroeder (Brent), uncle Blake Schroeder (Lori), uncle Eric Swanson (Lianne), grandmother Lyn Schroeder (James), very special people Tara and Lucas along with numerous other family and friends. Preceded in death are his grandparents, uncle Bryon Schroeder, comrades-in-arms, and so many he cared about whose lives ended too soon. All are welcome to attend his military service and interment at Camp Ripley Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, 15550 Hwy 115, Little Falls, MN on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 1400 hours (2:00 pm). They require that you NOT arrive more than 15 minutes early. A gathering afterwards to be held at the Main Gate Bar and Grill 15041 Hwy 115, Little Falls, MN. Until 4:00.
