Opitz, Wayne Michael

July 28, 1954 – September 22, 2019
Age 65 of Lakeville. Wayne passed away peacefully 9-22-2019, ending a courageous eight-year battle with various forms of cancer. Preceded in death by parents Al and Lorraine, partner Sonya. Survived by loving daughters, Tanya and Taylor, sister Sue (Andre) Sebasky and brother Greg (Julie). Wayne graduated from Richfield High School and Hennepin Technical College. He was a lifelong Twin Cities resident and spent his working career as a commercial painter. He will always be remembered as a kind, generous, caring individual (a true year-round Santa Claus). His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends and those touched by his goodness. Rest in Peace father, brother and friend. There will be no funeral service, however there will be a Celebration of Life planned for a later date. (Published in the Star Tribune September 29, 2019)
