Davis, Richard Chitty

July 6, 1942 – August 20, 2019
Age 77 of Hopkins. Preceded in death by his parents, Carabelle and William Davis, his brother, David; sister, Alix, and son, Brennan. The oldest of three, Richard was a reserved man, but between his love of adventure and his signature ‘cool’ he always left an impression. Depending on the decade, you’d have found him flying high in his glider over Lake Minne-tonka, scampering across the lighting rigs at the Old Log Theatre, or driving a little too fast to hockey practice with his kids. He had the perfect story for every occasion, friends from every corner of his life, and family who loved him dearly. Richard died in his home with the same patience, class, and calm grace that were hallmarks of his life. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, William (Kelly) Davis and Andrew (Oana) Davis; daughters, Richelle (Mike) Corbin and Amanda Wittenberg; grandchildren, Octavian, Mackenzie, Samantha, and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Drake, Mason, Cameron, and Nora; as well as many other relatives, friends and colleagues. Memorial service Saturday, Sep 14 at 2PM at Mizpah UCC, 412 5th Ave. N, Hopkins, MN 55343. Memorials preferred to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
