Swanson, Annabelle Ruth (nee Peterson)

February 3, 1926 – March 27, 2019
Age 93, passed away March 27. She was a lifelong South Mpls lady, nurse, wife, mother, and friend. Ann graduated the U of MN School of Nursing 1949. When we think of Ann we think of community service. She was deeply involved in her church and with COAM, a community of churches, and with Loaves and Fishes. For two decades, she participated with husband Dave in mission projects in Alaska, Japan, Congo, Ecuador, and Chile, working with mothers or children, or teaching English. Recently she knitted over one hundred toy bears for the Mother Bear Project, for kids in Africa. In the family Ann was the genealogist, recording family history from Sweden to this country. She is survived by her husband Dave; four children, Christine, Phil (Juliann), Mark (Ann Correll), and Joel (Pam Cutshall), nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. A celebration of Ann’s life is planned for Saturday, April 13, 11 am, at Bethlehem Covenant Church (3141 43rd Ave So, Minneapolis, 55406) with visitation at 10 am. Memorials preferred to Loaves and Fishes or Bethlehem Covenant Church. (Published in Minneapolis Star Tribune April 7, 2019)
