Lumsden, Sherry Lynn
August 29, 1950 – February 9, 2019
Age 68 of Brooklyn Park. On February 9th, 2019, Sherry Lumsden passed away due to complications from cancer. She passed at home, surrounded by love in her daughter’s arms. Sherry was a fiercely devoted daughter, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joys were spending time with family and learning every single detail of their days and soaking it all in. She always listened free from judgment and was her family’s greatest cheerleader. She enjoyed baking and crafting with her grandchildren, doing puzzles and creating sewing projects that were often gifts for her family. Sherry’s favorite hobby was travel. She traveled with close friends to Ireland and New Zealand and had many travel adventures with her daughter, Lindsay. Their years together were filled with cross-country road trips to state parks and big cities. They journeyed several times to Europe to explore the breathtaking vistas of the highlands of Scotland, classic works of impressionists in the art museums of Paris and Amsterdam, the colorful homes on the canals of Copenhagen, the immense formations of the fjords of Norway and to revel in the sites of countless churches, museums, and cafes and frequently made new friends along the way. These experiences will be forever treasured by Lindsay. Sherry also enjoyed her job as a Legal Assistant at the law firm, Merchant and Gould. She enjoyed the challenges of the work and even more, the good friends she made with whom she stayed in touch after retirement. Sherry will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her loss leaves and unfillable void and her memories will be cherished always. She is survived by mother Marilynn Lumsden, brother Mark Lumsden, daughter Lindsay Purcell, son-in-law Randall Purcell and grandchildren Hank, Skye, Ava and Elyssea. A celebration of life for Sherry will be held in the family home in early June. Please contact Crescent Tide funeral Home in St. Paul for details at 651.315.8214.
