Chappell, Sharen Thane (nee Jentink)
August 14, 1938 – December 25, 2018
Age 80 of North Saint Paul. Passed away on December 25, 2018 peacefully with family at home in North St. Paul from multiple myeloma/plasma cell leukemia. Predeceased by father Norman Jentink, mother Florence Mercereau Jentink and brother John Jentink. Survived by husband Rulon Chappell, daughters Elizabeth Volkers (Gregory), Gwendolyn Raddatz and grandchildren Kyle and Anna Volkers, Brent and Taylor Raddatz. Brother William Jentink. She was a graduate of Hamline University. Sharen was a devoted wife and mother and had many strong interests. She was a teacher (Mahtomedi Elementary). She had a love of art and music and was an accomplished pianist. She participated internationally in seminars on certain forms of Japanese antique art. She had an extensive collection of Hawaiian music with a special interest in the culture and meaning of Hawaiian hula. She was a voting member of the Hawaiian Association of Recording Artists (HARA).
