Age 65 of Saint Francis. Byron Richard Froh was born on March 22nd, 1953 in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. His
parents were Randolph and Iris (Johnson) Froh. He was raised on a dairy farm in rural
Sauk Centre near Cedar Lake.
He graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1971. He married Joyce(Becker) Froh
on July 7, 1973. His first law enforcement position was at the Todd County Sheriff’s
Office in 1972. He went on to join the Long Prairie Police Department in the fall of
1973. During his tenure with the department he served as patrol officer and later as
Sargeant. In the spring of 1982 he accepted a position as Police Chief in the city of
New Richland, Mn. He was with the department for four years and then accepted a
position as Chief in the City of St. Francis, MN. He retired from this position September
of 2007. After retirement from St. Francis he enjoyed several part time jobs and (as he
put it) still stayed busy and productive.
As he moved through his law enforcement career as a young man and later to
retirement age, he never once took for granted his colleagues, his officers and the
communities he served. The people who touched his career were all held in the
highest regard.
Byron enjoyed his “hobby” creating house plans, building and moving onto the next
project. He, along with his family “helpers” built seven homes during his lifetime. He
especially loved the challenge working with new plans and succeeding with new
challenges.
Byron is survived by Joyce, his Son, Nathan(Courtney) Mooresville, NC. grandchildren

Paul, MN. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He is missed and
forever loved.
