Trebesch, Clarice Elaine (nee Berndt)

Age 84 of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2018. She was born to Clara and Herbert Berndt on Sept. 9, 1933, in Canby, MN. Clarice was baptized following birth and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She spent her entire life in Minnesota, graduating from elementary school in Darfur and high school in Comfrey. In 1956, Clarice married Marvin Trebesch, and moved to rural Sleepy Eye, where she remained until 1981 when she moved to Minneapolis. Clarice demonstrated her love for the Lord throughout her life.  She spent tireless hours devoting service to her church community, Wise Penny thrift store, and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society.  Clarice raised her 2 children as a single mother, providing a firm foundation in the Christian faith. Preceding her in death were her parents; Marvin (husband); Evelyn O’Hearn, Eldora Mead, Charlet Meenen, and Kathleen Stark (sisters); and Michael Lanoha (son-in-law).Clarice is survived by her two children Guy (Cathleen) Trebesch, Plymouth, MN, and Glenda Lanoha (Tim Rosenthal), Omaha, NE; as well as her six grandchildren: Wesley, Samuel, Lindsay (Chad), Brittany (Nate), Holly (Chad), and Abby (Matt); and five great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are LeRoy Berndt, New Hope, MN, and GlenRoy (Connie) Berndt, St. James, Minn. Visitation services will be held Wednesday, May 9 from 4-8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hope, MN.  Funeral services will be at 11am on Thursday, May 10th at Holy Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior.  A memorial service will be at 11am on May 11th at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, MN with visitation one hour prior followed by burial at Home Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to Holy Trinity Ev.
