Swirtz, David Michael
August 22, 1961 – May 24, 2018
Age 56 of Richfield, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2018 at home with his wife, sister, son and friend at his side. David was a loving husband, father, brother, friend and mentor. He was a gifted carpenter and built hundreds of garages in his career. He was a true advocate and believer in the 12 step program and his 24 years of sobriety is proof. He was able to connect to his higher power and it ultimately gave him peace and acceptance with Jesus as his savior. David’s passions were Astronomy, Science and the Minnesota Twins. He felt his greatest accomplishment was raising his son, Cole. His greatest strength was his humility and the ability to apply it to his own life. David is survived by his wife, Mary, son Coleman, stepson Tony Fish, stepson Alex Fish, 6 brothers and 1 sister: Paul (Carly), John (Annette), Mark (Jeanine), Mary Winter (David), Jimmy (Paula), Tony (Andrienne) and Adam (Jen). Preceded in death by his father and mother, Wilfrid & Patricia Swirtz, and brother, Joel. David was blessed with many nieces and nephews. Celebration of David’s life will be June 8th at 2 pm at Southtown Baptist Church, 2600 W 82nd St, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family are appreciated.
