Age 67 of Minneapolis, died suddenly at North Memorial Hospital after a long, tenacious battle with cancer. Novelist and short story writer. Preceded in death by father, Walter. Survived by long-time life partner, Kerry Cork and their beloved daughter, Kelsey; mother, Arlene (“Mitzi”); siblings, Marcia (Dale), Jon (Joan), and Trent (Laura); nephews and niece, Casey, Corey, Joseph, James, Ace, and Rendy, and other relatives. Randy loved his family, literature, history, films, politics, and sports. He was a private man of exceptional insight, intelligence, and integrity, with an incisive wit, a herculean capacity for work, and a generous spirit. The family will be celebrating Randy’s life in a small private gathering. Memorials preferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Animal Humane Society.
