Plummer, Marilyn Jean (nee Beatty)
July 2, 1931 – July 15, 2018
Age 87 of Burnsville. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 11 at 1 PM at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, 511 Groveland Avenue, Minneapolis MN 55403, with the Rev. Frenchye Magee officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, an hour before the service. Guests are also encouraged to stay and visit with the family after the service. Marilyn was born in Duluth MN on July 2, 1931, to Fredrick (Fred) Beatty and Sarah (Anderson) Beatty. She attended the University of MN Duluth and became a teacher. On July 30, 1960, she married Richard (Dick) Plummer in Duluth MN. Marilyn taught school in California for a time before she came back to MN and met Dick. After they were married, they bought a house in Burnsville MN, where they raised their family. James (Jim) was born on August 30, 1961, and Jeffrey (Jeff) was born on March 21, 1964. Marilyn worked for the Burnsville school system for many years, and volunteered for many years at Fairview Ridges Hospital and Ebenezer Ridges Senior Living, in Burnsville. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Lake Vermillion in Northern MN. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Patricia.
