LaPierre, Louis Edward

Age 74 of Saint Paul. Preceded in death by parents, Alice and Louis; brother, Phillip; and son, Jean-Louis Jacque (1976-79). Lou was a scholar, soldier, lawyer, bridge builder and home contractor. He loved reading, music, skiing, coaching his son in baseball and a rousing discussion. Graduated from Nazareth Hall H.S., St. Paul, in 1961; St. Thomas College in 1966; and Georgetown Law in 1972. Served honorably with the US Army in Vietnam from 1966-68. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Survived by wife, Georgia; sons, Steve (Joy) and Nic (Stevie); grandchildren, Jacob (Randi), Alex and Emma; 6 brothers and 7 sisters; and many other relatives and good friends. Funeral Mass Wednesday, 11 am at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 1500 Franklin Ave. SE, Mpls. Visitation 90 minutes prior to service at the church. Interment in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Lonsdale, MN. Memorials preferred to the donor’s favorite charity. (Published in the Star Tribune on December 17, 2017).
