Highum, Jane Edith (nee Keller)

May 21, 1920 – March 27, 2018
Age 97 of Shakopee, born in Chicago and passed away peacefully March 27, 2018 in Eden Prairie, MN. Preceded in death by her husband Philip, her sister Marny Beach (John), and her parents James and Esther Keller. Loved and remembered by her son, Peter Highum (Lisa Goemer), daughter Kristi Maitland (Bill), grandson Caelan Maitland, nephews, and friends. Jane was a wonderful and gracious woman, beautiful both inside and out. She loved her dogs (Cairn and Scottish terriers), bird watching, gardening, nature, golfing, old movies, cooking and baking (she had a notorious sweet tooth, especially for anything chocolate) and spending time with her family and friends. She and Phil moved to Phoenix upon his retirement from General Mills in 1981. They made wonderful friends and thoroughly enjoyed their busy and fun retirement years in AZ. Jane moved back to MN after Phil’s death in 2011 to be closer to family. Special thanks to the staff at LuAnn’s Place in Eden Prairie (especially Sue and LuAnn), who took such great and loving care of her in the last months of her life. Jane will be interred at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery next to Phil at a later date. A celebration of life open house will be held at her daughter’s house in Eden Prairie following the internment. Details provided later.
