Heffernan, Arthur Paul
July 5, 1938 – June 8, 2018
Age 79 of Saint Paul. Lifelong Resident of St. Paul, MN Born July 5, 1938, died June 8, 2018 twenty-seven days short of his 80th birthday. He was at home with family when he lost his final battle with COPD. He was an avid hunter, a lover of building and driving hot rods, fast cars in general, and hockey (playing, watching, and coaching 30+ years) was a life long passion. His love of sports was passed on to his sons, grandsons, and granddaughter. His family was important to him and he believed in putting family first. He spent 36 plus years at Canteen Corporation as a vending machine repair specialist. He was a strong union advocate, a union steward, and a proud member of the local Teamsters Union. Art is survived by his daughter, Terri (Jeff) Naughtin of Plymouth, MN; sons Michael (Karie) Heffernan of Roseville, MN; Patrick (Debra) Heffernan of Zionsville, IN; grandchildren David, Jack, and Michael Naughtin; Hannah, Hunter, and Hayden Heffernan; Jack, Clay, Sam, and Quinn Heffernan; his brothers Thomas and Gerald; sister Arlene; mother of his children and former wife, Carole Heffernan; as well as numerous nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his mother Theresa Heffernan and father Thomas Heffernan. Special thanks to: St. Josephs Hospital, Bethesda Hospital, and HealthEast Hospice Care who all provided support during his illness and final months.
