Falk, Jean (nee Pasternacki)
November 16, 1955 – August 30, 2018
Age 62 of Minneapolis. Our take- no-prisoners wife and mother with her bright smile and infectious laugh passed away on August 30, 2018 after a two year fight with cancer. She was born in Duluth, MN on November 16, 1955. She was a fun, lovable, generous sister, friend and auntie. Attended the University of MN, where she met Larry, her husband of 38 years. She worked in publishing, sales, printing and finally owning her own graphic design business. In addition, she was an avid reader, talented cook, host and political enthusiast. Preceded in death by parents, Betty and Jim Pasternacki; loving Aunt and Uncle, Joan and Jean Basgen; and sister Judy Salyards. Jean is survived by her husband Larry Falk; daughter, Beth and dog-boy Cooper. She is also survived by her siblings, John (Zhao Hui) Basgen, Ann (Bob) Besinger, Fritz (Kelly Bertenshaw) Basgen, Sue (Mike) Hayden and Liz (Tom) Chapman; Larry’s extended family and Peter Salyards and Norma Basgen. The list of nieces and nephews is long and loving. The list of loving friends is longer. Please join us on Sunday, September 30, from 2pm to 5pm at American Legion Post 435 for a party celebrating Jean’s life at 6501 Portland Avenue, Richfield, MN. Memorials preferred to Planned Parenthood MN or League of Women Voters-Minneapolis. We want to thank MN Oncology for their exceptional care of Jean and the Drs. and nurses at Abbott Northwestern Hospital Oncology unit E30, for their compassion and openness during her final days. Thanks to CaringBridge.org where Jean created a journal of her life these past two years. (Published in the Star Tribune on September 16, 2018).
