June 20, 1952 – May 5, 2018
Age 65 of Minneapolis. Preceded in death by her parents, John Ballinger and Myra (Hurd) Coleman. Cynthia was a graduate of the University of Minnesota where she majored in Chinese. We are told she spoke it flawlessly. She was an avid hiker and adventurous traveler and made friends everywhere she went, with her infectious laugh and mischievous wink. Cynthia caught the travel bug early, living in Taiwan, Australia, and states across the US. She leaves behind her brother Jonathan, sister Janet, step-daughter Erica, and step-son John, who extend their gratitude to her dear friends Avis, Peggy, Mary, Molly and Ed, her friends at The Waters on 50th, in Edina, and all of you unable to be there in person, for the love and support you gave her throughout her life. We are all grateful to the donor who enabled Cynthia’s lung transplant in 2013, providing her more time to make us laugh with her quick wit and keen sense of observation. A small family service will be held on her birthday in June, before being interred alongside her parents at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. (Published in the Star Tribune on May 13, 2018).
