Monroe Sr., Gregory Byron

April 29, 1955 – April 11, 2017
Age 61 of St. Paul. Passed away at home on April 11, 2017 Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gregory attended Southeast High School in Kansas City, MO, and later transferred to the New Hampton School, in New Hampton, NH where he received his high school diploma in 1973. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his master’s degree in behavioral disabilities from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, MI. Gregory used his education and training to counsel and mentor youth at the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center in St. Paul where he was employed for 33 years. Gregory was married to Ms. Joji Pullen of Chicago, Illinois, and their union produced one child. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Monroe Sr. and Barbara Ross Monroe of Kansas City, MO. He is survived by his son Gregory B. Monroe, Jr., his brother, Lloyd B. Monroe, Jr., of Missouri City, TX., as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on April 20, 2017 at the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center, 1480 Snelling Avenue, St. Paul, MN. A Memorial Service for family will be held in May at the Windsor Village United Methodist Church, 6011 W. Orem Dr., Houston, TX. (Published in Pioneer Press on Apr. 17, 2017)
