Howe, Marianne Elizabeth (nee Rehder)

March 17, 1953 – October 24, 2016
On beautiful sunny October 24, 2016, Marianne Elizabeth Rehder Howe flew to heaven peacefully surrounded by family who cherished her greatly. She will be remembered fondly by her children, Jane (Mike Tripple), Mary (Randy Luhrs), Carol (Steve Howe-Veenstra), Judy (Rick Brandell), Mark (Tammy Howe), ten grandchildren, thirteen greatgrandies, nieces, nephew and many friends. Marianne’s loving husband Norm preceded her in death in 2006. She was born in Red Wing MN June 7, 1920, received her degree in physical education from LaCrosse, taught in several cities in Wisc. and served in the Red Cross during WWII. She married Norm in 1948 and lived in Detroit Lakes, Green Bay, and on Serpent Lake, Crosby where they were active members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Marianne and Norm owned the Skogmos Dept Store for almost 30 years. Marianne lived at Heartwood several years, completing her life’s journey at Boutwells Care Center in Stillwater. Memorial celebration of her life will be Sat. Oct. 29 at 11 am, visitation one hour preceding at Boutwells Landing Chapel, 13575 58th St., Oak Park Heights, MN. 55082 Luncheon to follow. Burial in Red Wing MN. Special thank you to Boutwells’ staff and Ecumen Hospice for their dedicated care. Memorials preferred to Boutwells’ Activity Program or donor’s choice.
