Hessburg, Deborah Dawn (nee Richards)
March 12, 1951 – June 23, 2017
Age 66 of Remer. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Survived by her husband of 43 years, Joe Hessburg; sister, Sandra Becker; son, Nate (Shannon); and grandchildren, Kiley and Jordan. Deb was preceded in death by her father and mother, Thomas Aldrich Richards and Margaret Richards. She was a truly amazing person and friend to many. She had many passions from synchronized swimming to skiing, music, and exploring the outdoors. Deb’s main passion in life was what she made a career out of, wine. She had a love of wine that anyone in her life that was fortunate enough to benefit from her wisdom was a welcome recipient. Her love brought her to far reaches of the earth and she gained a love for France, Spain and Italy in particular. Deb will be remembered for her wonderful smile, her excellent sense of humor, and how she would brighten any room she entered. She is now in a better place and is surely dancing the night away with a glass of champagne in her hand. Burial took place at Fort Snelling on June 29th with her loving family gathered together. A celebration of life will be held at 4403 Woodley Trail, Remer, MN 56672, on July 15th at 2:00pm. A second celebration will be held at The Wine Company, 425 West Minnehaha Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55103, on July 22nd at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers a donation will be accepted and donated to a local animal shelter in her name. (Published in the Star Tribune on July 1, 2017).
