Hedger, Scott Anthony

Hedger, Scott Anthony

August 8, 1966 – February 3, 2017
Age 50 of St. Paul. Soulmate, Brother, Uncle, Son, Godfather and Opa Died unexpectedly on February 3, 2017. Survived by his mate Patricia Bennett; brother, Steve Hedger; sisters, Denise (Matt) Brausam; Vicki (Marc) Cheffer; nieces (Jayne, Mary, Taylor, Rylie, Stephanie, Sedona, Jolie); grandchildren (Ethan and Olivia); godsons (Thomas and Nicholas); and step-son (Zachary and Courtney Klicka). His vast friend network embraced individuals from a broad spectrum of life with a common thread for being steadfast and true. Scott was a transplant to St. Paul from Kankakee, IL, but claimed it as home shortly after his arrival. A solid fan of the Replacements, he came for the music, the weather and the scene. Among other things, he spent a good portion of his early years as a hockey goalie, and loved the sport eternally. He graduated from Bishop McNamara High School in Kankakee, IL. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree at Southern Illinois University and pursued a PhD at the University of Alabama. Scott at his core was a kind, loving man and steadfast friend who enjoyed travel, good food, newsprint, wine, music, golf, beer, dissecting politics and games of chance. The loss of his sharp sense of humor and take on life means it’s a lesser world. A celebration of his life will be held April 1, 2017, at Emmett’s Public House, 695 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, 11am – 2pm. He has a deep regard for you, so please bring your joy and stories to share.
