Graper, Mary Jane (nee Van Vleck)

Graper, Mary Jane (nee Van Vleck)

September 17, 1914 – January 21, 2017
Age 102 of Hopkins. Born on September 17th, 1914 passed away peacefully in her own home on Saturday January 21st 2017 at the age of 102. Preceded in death by parents, Frank V. Morse and Janet Calhoun Morse, husband Ben Graper and only son William “Bill” Graper. A flamboyant personality, Jane outlived everyone she knew, both literally and figuratively. Sharp of eye, keen of wit and lived life much larger than her 4ft 7in frame would dictate. A voracious reader, avid doll collector and detailed story teller. She had a long term memory second to none. Jane was especially proud that she was able to work into her 80’s and in her 90’s sat on the boards of five different groups: The Masonic, Eastern Star, Grand Court of MN and Order of the Amaranth and achieving the highest honor of “Honorable Lady”. A special mention to all of her neighbors and friends who helped in achieving Jane’s wishes of leaving this world from her own home and on her own terms, and special recognition to her doctor and friend, Raymond W. Scallen, M.D. Jane, rest in peace. We all loved you. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Grandview Park Cemetery in Hopkins, 8901 Maloney Avenue.
