Seefeld, Tara Lynn (nee Vikesland)

Age 57 of St. Paul. Went home to be with Jesus, Saturday, September 3, 2016 surrounded by loved ones at her home in St. Paul, MN. Tara was born June 20, 1959 in Fergus Falls, MN to the late Roger and Sharon (Ostenson) Vikesland. She graduated Class of 1977 from Elbow Lake – Wendell High School and went on to get her associates degree as a para-legal from Moorhead Technical College. Following her education she began work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Dakota and then she moved to St. Paul to work for the 3M Corporation of St. Paul. After several years of working in the legal department she took an early retirement. She was a dedicated employee and received many awards of service through 3M. During high school Tara was active in the High School Choir and Band, playing several wind instruments and marching with her classmates in both the Cotton Bowl Parade and the Indianapolis 500. Tara loved spending time with her friends and family in which they all share many wonderful memories. At the age of 26 Tara was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and she began her journey of learning to live with MS. She learned to experience life in new ways and never let anything stop her. Her Life was LIVED and LOVED!!! She trusted in the Lord that this was her plan in life and remained faithful in His grace and love. November 27,1993, Tara married her best friend Mike Seefeld. They united their vows at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul, MN. To this union they became a family with Mike’s son Chris Seefeld. Mike and Tara enjoyed adventures of camping, canoeing, going to parks, Canterbury Downs, and attending the Minnesota State Fair, where she so enjoyed the famous corn dog. Tara loved to follow her nieces and nephews activities, watching their sporting events and a little NASCAR. Tara is preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Sharon (Ostenson) Vikesland; grandparents, Eilert and Alma Vikesland and Bernt and Ida Ostenson; brother-In-law, Lenny Klemetson; nephew, Shawn Seefeld; and great-niece, Tabitha Markle. Tara is survived by her loving family; husband, Michael Seefeld; step-son, Christopher Seefeld; brother, Todd (Julie) Vikesland; sisters, Tria (Tom) Mann; Tesa Vikesland; mother and father-in-law, Marvin and Annamay Seefeld; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Mary) Seefeld, Tom (Sue) Seefeld, Rodney Seefeld; sisters-in-laws, Kathie Klemetson and Barb (Mike) Tedford; nieces and nephews, Megan (Jeff) Hendershot, Matthew & Melissa Vikesland, Dana & Dawson Rude, Tosten & Lydia Mann, Aaron (Amy) Seefeld, Amanda (Jon) Markle, Emily (John) Halloran, Ann (Scott) Friedland, Jennifer (Michael) Mooney, Cassie Henning, Justin (Andrea) Tedford, Ray Tedford, Nick Tedford; many other relatives and friends. She was also a very dedicated and supportive Godmother to Tesa, Dana, Chris, Brandi and Tosten. Seeing each of them through the enrichment of Jesus Christ their Savior. Tara will be missed by many family members and friends, especially the remaining six of the magnificent seven “The Girls of 77”! A Christian service is planned for 12Noon, Monday, September 12, 2016 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul, 550 West Seventh Street, St. Paul, MN, with visitation one hour prior.
