Yarborough, Robert (Bob) Allen “51”
April 24, 1968 – December 6, 2014
Age 46 of Shoreview. Bob “51” Yarborough, true gentleman, friend to all, enemy of none, departed this life on Saturday, 12/6/14. Restored at last to the freedom of the road, “51” roared his way to that great Highway in the sky. He is survived by his mother Mary Yarborough, sister Eileen Flaherty, nieces Megan and Caitlin, nephew Aidan, devoted caregivers Aunt Barb, Rick and Paul, more close family and many, many friends. Bob was a big-hearted man who would offer whatever you needed, be it the shirt off his back, or his skilled gifts under the hood of your vehicle. Those needing a friend needed look no further than “51”. Moreover, he was a man of singular, quiet courage, who met every day with remarkable good cheer, extraordinary strength of spirit, and transcendent grace, following his diagnosis with ALS just a year ago. At Bob’s request, there will no sad memorial service, but rather, a “Redneck Funeral” in his honor, at the North St. Paul American Legion Post #39, (2678 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul) on Friday, December 12, 2014, with visitation and a light dinner beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will be a shared toast in joyous celebration of his well-lived life at 7:00 p.m., followed by music, drinks, love, laughter, and lots of “51” stories, as together, we try and imagine his revved up arrival at those Pearly Gates. Memorials preferred to family.
