Snede, Paul Jeffrey
November 13, 1958 – July 16, 2015
Age 56 of Shakopee, lost his long battle with cancer on July 16 at the age of 56. He passed at his brother Don’s home in Chanhassen surrounded by his close, loving family. We thank Don and Chris for allowing his untimely death to be so peaceful and are proud to say that his brother Randy and sister Barb would have provided the same comfort at a moment’s notice. Paul was born in Minneapolis as the youngest to John and Alice Snede and grew-up in Burnsville, where he continued on to high school which he graduated early from. He continued studies at Northwestern Tech School which embarked him on a near 40 year career in the tech industry, including an eventual BA and BS in engineering. He began and ended that career at Seagate technologies where he had a lasting impact on the design and construction of computer data storage drives, domestically and globally. Paul’s young adult life revolved almost exclusively around the band he played lead guitar for, Crescent and later the Mekanix. His long haired, motorcycling days were cut short when he had two loving children, Erik & Marin. He was an amazing father making his children a number one priority. His later years were spent furthering his career, where he had opportunities to travel to China and Singapore. Along with his passion for music, Paul also shared his lifelong love of skiing with his children, a sport important in his childhood. He later fell in love with the game of golf and devoted lots of time to it. Paul was optimistic, upbeat, and always smiling. He loved those around him and it showed in his everyday demeanor and character. He will be sorely missed and we ask you to come celebrate in a memorial of his life at the Bent Creek golf club in Eden Prairie, MN on Saturday the 25th of July from 11 am – 3 pm. Donations may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network.
