Roders, Elizabeth “Betty” Kathern (nee Mertz)
January 3, 1929 – June 26, 2015
Age 86 of Kenosha, Wis., passed away peacefully on June 26, 2015. She was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Kenosha, daughter of the late Christian and Amalia (Schaefer) Mertz. She was a secretary at Simmons Company, the Air Force office at American Motors, the Social Security Office, and Friedens Lutheran School. She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Rasch of North St Paul, Minn., and her sister, Pauline Hoye of Willoughby, Oh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Roders, son Mark Roders of Kenosha, sisters Mollie Haasch of Wauwatosa, and Marie Miller of Smithfield, Va., brothers John Mertz, Christian Mertz, and Gene Mertz of Kenosha. The family is deeply thankful to all her caregivers at St Josephs Home and Rehabilitation Center, Kenosha, and The Homestead at Maplewood, MN, and Health Partners Hospice. Visitation for Betty will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church at 5038 19th Ave, Kenosha, WI on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 10 a.m., with services at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the “Elizabeth Roders Memorial Fund” at TCF Bank are gratefully appreciated.
