Redick, Rosemary (nee Harris)
October 7, 1931 – March 23, 2015
Age 83, a long-time resident of Rapid City, died Monday, March 23, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Shakopee, MN. Born Oct. 7, 1931, in Fort Pierre, SD, Rosemary attended Fort Pierre High School before marrying Elwood Redick, a local livestock dealer. Together they had three children: Mark Leon Redick, Paula Redick Saunders, and Sara Redick Holcombe. Rosemary loved dancing, and founded the Four Arts Dance Center in Rapid City. She also taught dance in Hot Springs and Belle Fourche. She was one of the founders of The Group Theater, which later grew into the Black Hills Community Theatre. She was an avid bridge player, gardener, and seamstress. Rosemary treasured her many close friends in the Rapid City area. In her last several years she spent her winters at her condo in Mexico, where she enjoyed oil painting, crafting, and line-dancing. A free spirit, a supportive and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law, and a good friend to all, Rosemary will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two daughters and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, at Crossroads Wesleyan Church, 1823 Sheridan Lake Road, Rapid City, South Dakota, 57702, followed by a luncheon at the church.
