Matson, Robert “Bob” Thomas

Age 71 of Burnsville. Survived by wife of 24 years, Melody Lynn Matson of Burnsville; son, Thomas Matson (and family) of Oregon; daughters, Kim Brendon (Bruce) of Rothsay, MN and Theresa Bushek (John); 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and 1 great grandson; sisters, Debbie Bauer and Pam; and brother, Steven (Mary Beth). Bob retired from Toro in 2008 after 43 years working as a machinist. He served the US Army for 6 years from 1961-1967. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed cowboy shooting and belonged to the Old West Shooting Society in Wisconsin. He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He married his sweetheart, Melody, at the St. Paul Temple on April 22, 2015 for time and all eternity. He is preceded in death by parents, Merlin and Rose Matson; brother, Richard; and sisters, Mary and Paulette. Services on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, 7 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 651 Southcross Dr. E, Burnsville, MN 55306. (Published in the Star Tribune on September 24, 2015)
