Lizee, Maurice Carl “Moki”
September 16, 1917 – February 2, 2015
Age 97 of Excelsior. He lived happily in his long-time Lake Minnetonka home in Greenwood until his passing. Moki loved being outdoors and most of all, his beloved wife Doris. Together, they were active outdoor enthusiasts and enjoyed skiing, skating, sailing and the lake until their 80s. Moki grew up in White Bear Lake, Mn. He joined the Army National Guard at age 18 and served in WW2. During the war, he was a member OSS (Office of Strategic Service) stationed in India. He graduated from the U of M Law School and was a practicing attorney until age 70. A special love for Moki was his sailboat, Volante. With friend Jim MacRae, they restored the 1887 sailboat and sailed it on Lake Minnetonka for many years. He is predeceased by his wife, Doris; and daughter, Sue. He is survived by son, Alan (Christine); son-in-law, Jack Dunn; grandchildren, Tracy and Marit Lizee, Mike (Nina) and Chris Dunn; and great-grandchild, Milo Dunn. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 3:00-5:00 PM at the Old Log Theater, 5185 Meadville St., Greenwood, near Excelsior.
