Hudalla, Marlene (nee Moran)

February 9, 1937 – January 7, 2015
Age 77, passed unexpectedly on January 7, 2015 in Minneapolis. Born in St. Paul, MN February 9, 1937 and was the only child of Grace and William Moran. She married Iven in 1958 and remained together for 46 years until he passed in 2004. In 1978 they moved to the Brainerd area and were part owners of Morey’s Fish House. In 1984 they opened Iven’s on the Bay Restaurant, where they served the community for over 20 years before retiring in 2004. Marlene is survived by her five sons, Daniel (Paula), Kevin, Christopher (Doug), Brian (Kristina), and Alan. Other survivors include grandchildren; Jason (Kacey), Jordan, Chris, Lindsay, Nicholas, Clayton, Andre, and Alexi, great grandchildren; Ainslie and Annabel. Services will be held in Nisswa and Minneapolis. Saturday January 24th a Memorial Mass at St. Christopher’s (25574 Church Street, Nisswa, MN) 11am, with a visitation one hour prior, and followed by lunch at Iven’s on the Bay. Sunday, January 25 a Celebration of Life Service at Unity Minneapolis (4000 Golden Valley Rd, Golden Valley, MN 55422) at 3:30pm, preceded by a visitation thirty minutes prior, and followed by a cocktail reception at Bonefish Grill, St. Louis Park. Regarding flowers, Marlene Hudalla, was a generous, practical and pragmatic woman and would rather see resources used to benefit others. So, in lieu of flowers, memorials in her name are preferred to: charity of your choice or St. Francis Catholic School Foundation (817 Juniper, Brainerd, MN 56401).
