Quale, Wendell Melroy

Age 76 of Edina. A beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend found peace, surrounded by family, on September 11th, 2013 after a long and valiant battle with cancer complicated by a staph infection. Born in Cannon Falls, MN on April 7th, 1937. Preceded in death by son, Jeff; father, Peter; mother, Marianne; and sister-in-law, Dolly. Wendell is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Terri (Jay) Cope; grandchildren, Hannah and Ben Cope of Shorewood; daughter-in-law Angie Quale and grandsons, Dylan and Justin Quale of Minnetonka; stepchildren, Della Rae (Steve) Rhoads and granddaughters, Mariah and Marissa; Eric (Michelle) Kalasz and grandchildren, Tanner, Raegan and Aubrey; and, Ryan Kalasz. Wendell is also survived by brother, Luther Quale of Cannon Falls, MN; sister, Gloria (Ed) of Mankato, MN; Paul (Julie) Quale of Minnetonka, MN; and, many beloved nieces and nephews around southern Minnesota and beyond. A 1955 graduate of Cannon Falls HS, Wen studied Engineering at the University of Minnesota following high school. After working for Fabric Supply Company and Kurup Construction, he put his schooling and experience to work and started Valley View Associates, a company that designed, built and serviced swimming pools. Wen was passionate about his company and his customers. He highly valued the long-standing, personal and professional relationships he had with them. In Wendell’s free time, his favorite activity was attending his grandchildren’s, activities – sporting events, concerts – and spending time visiting and traveling with family. Wendell was a Master Mason and member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner; a member of the Sons Of Norway; and, a long-time member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. Our heartfelt thanks to the Our Lady of Peace hospice team for the loving and compassionate care you provided Wendell. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013, 11 am at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis, MN. Visitation prior to the service starting at 10 am. Internment will follow at Urland Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, MN. Memorials to Our Lady of Peace Hospice.
